Printing on 1mm thick card on Epson 3880
« on: October 02, 2011, 03:53:20 pm »

I have some 1mm card that I want to print some B&W text on using my Epson 3880.

I will obviously need to use the front tray.

What Media Type do I use? I have tried to use "Plain Paper" and set the thickness to 1mm in the "Paper Config" window but it gives me a Paper
Source error, and refuses to print!

How do I overcome this?

This is a bit urgent - I need this done for a meeting tomorrow! I left it to the last minute not thinking there would be any difficulties with what I expected would be a simple task :-)

Many thanks,

Well - I have a solution.

It turns out that I was trying to print from MS Visio 2007.

It doesn't work from Visio but works just fine from Word 2007 or Photoshop CS5.

Ho humm...

Just one more thing -

I was able to print ok from Visio 2007 to thick card on my (now departed) Canon 9500 Mk II.

So one wonders if it's an MS Visio Problem or an Epson problem.  I guess we shall never know!

Not that I'm singing the praises of the 9500 ... :-(

I think I'm becoming a grumpy old man where printer manufacturers are concerned!!!

Hmmm....
