Sinar Capture Shop 6.02 (003) Anti-Moire ?

Hi All,

I dont usually need it but just noticed the Anti Moire slider seems to be missing ....I am shooting with a Sinar 54M - The anti-moire slider was there in earlier versions is it gone now or am i missing something ?

As far as I can remember it may have been contributing to crashes during the beta testing of version 6 (DNG/multicore version), so it has been left out temporarily. Martin Widmann would know more.

Ahhh....that explains why I saw it earlier in Version 6 BETA but not now.....thought I was crazy !

The Hardware AntiMoire is still there under Capture. Its not selected by default. But the panel can be accessed and turned on by control-clicking in the Capture panels on a Mac.

Just double checked - It is not an option in CS6.02 (003) all my panels are turned on in Capture, Process and Export.

I am on a Mac as well....are you sure you have the very latest version of CS6 ?

Yes, also using 6.02 (003). Maybe it's different for the two backs. I am using an eVolution 75H. That is probably the reason as I remember reading about a panel that doesn't exist on the 75H because it doesn't have removable media.
See the two attached jpgs for my choices.
I really wish there was some user manual for the software.

Hardware Anti-Moire is only an option for multishot backs. The 54M is a single shot back so you won't have the option of checking it.

As stated by Ben, the Hardware Anti-Moiré is not available with single-shot DBs: it is a mechanical hardware feature done with the piezo-plate available in multi-shot backs, and there is no such a piezo-plate in a single-shot DB.

Yes, well understood, but unfortunately I can't give it back to you myself.

 

Try the earlier version, if it is still available on your computer. If yes, then they (Sinar) might have taken the option out, as mentioned by Ben. Try also to re-install it, by trashing the preferences before, and re-boot the Mac.

If not, I suggest you to contact Sinar

Thanks for all the answers. I learned something today. About the single shot backs etc. And that we need forums like this to keep us sane.
