Even stranger lunar rocks at Kinnagoe Beach!
« on: September 14, 2011, 03:06:48 pm »

This photo is also taken from the beautiful Kinnagoe beach. The rocks really looked like something from another world. I love these 2 in the foreground and the rock on the left was typical of many of the rocks in the area which had a mixture of pitch black and a silver metallic appearance. They looked as if they were painted

Enda,

I could write a couple of paragraphs on everything I like about your recent work but will simply say the works are delicious!

Are these MF film based captures?

I've noticed that when someone posts one good capture, they will get the accolades disserved, but after several good posts people are often not so inclined to comment. How quickly efforts are taken for granted!

Also, thanks for toning down the watermarks, it greatly adds to the enjoyment of the images.

BTW, are you linking the original pix or uploading? I can't get my linked images to display as large as do yours.

I can only agree with Eric's comment, those rocks are so fantastic, almost unreal.
Good job again, Enda!

Thanks so much guys for all the lovely comments guys. I really appreciate it.

Justan I actually use a Hasselblad H3D 39 back on a Cambo Wide DS. I stitch 2 sets of images to get the panoramics. I usually use the Schneider 35mm and 28mm XL lenses and to a lesser extent the 47mm. I wouldn't like to go any wider (the Rodenstock 23mm is just to wide for my taste.)

Ya it's always a problem with the watermarks. It's a bit of a balancing act but at the end of the day I have to protect my images. It wouldn't be such a problem if they were smaller but I decided to start posting the images at a larger size so the viewer really gets a feel for them. I think at 700 pixels are so, the whole message is lost.

If you go to the website all the panoramics and my newer standard format photos have an option to view the images at a larger size. You will see the button above the top left of the image. I guess you probably missed that. Here the panoramics are at 1800 pixels, so they are bigger again than here. The size fits a 24 screen nicely. If I use that size on LL than the image is pushed to the right a bit.

Once again guys. Thanks so much for your kind words. :)

Thanks, Enda.

I don’t know bupkis MF equipment but am feeling the siren call for the reasons you demonstrated.

I understand what you’re saying about the image sizes and the need to protect one’s property. I've read several opinions on the topic of what size view image “ought to be” web published and the dilemma is that one wants to give the prospective patron an opportunity to see the quality of work, but not give it away for doing so. It is a decision that can never bring what is desired to the presenter. Anywho, again fwiw this round, of watermarks are far less intrusive than the previous, and that makes it possible to enjoy the web presentation.

BTW I took a quick look at your web site (nice!) and do like the larger image option.

But back to my other question. Did you link or upload the images above?

Sorry Justan. I upload the images on LL to my FTP site but they are not linked back to my site where you have the 1800 pixel version (for panoramics)
