Garden Spider

This spider has lived in front of my door all summer.  She survived Irene with nary a scratch, though she had to rebuild her web (took two days).  Expecting egg cases soon.

Those argiope spiders are gorgeous, and they are very happy to pose for us! I think you might have gotten closer, we really don't need to see the window frame in the background.
