Spyder 3.0 Elite profiling troubles - HP 2475w
« on: September 09, 2011, 10:56:23 pm »

Ugh, any help would be much appreciated.

I haven't had to do a lot of printing until recently, and now I'm just stuck with my color mgmt.

printer -
HP z3100
custom profile for Red River Satin
calibrated

Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
All the prints are shifted red slightly, but contrasty and nicely saturated.

monitor-
HP 2475w

When I do the apple color calibration by eye, I can get it pretty close. But for some reason every time I use my Spyder 3 Elite the resulting profile is not as red, and not nearly as saturated as the print. Just not accurate at all. I'm using Gamma 2.2, 6500k and I've tried all the settings. I'm using the most up-to-date version of the software. Why is the profile sooo far off? Even straight up sRGB is much closer to the prints.

I know Lightroom is not color managed, but usually with a profiled monitor and a good paper profile, it's usually pretty close, as long as my monitor isn't too bright.

Seems like all the trouble happened since upgrading to OS 10.6.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks,

Eli

which profile version are you using? I don't think SL handles all the v4 profile correctly, at least not for me using Colormunki Photo... give v2 a try if you haven't done so.
