Is the banding in the sky natural, or a processing artifact?

Very well done. My only nitpick would be slightly burnt highlights in ships on the far left, but doubt that an average viewer/buyer (read: non-photographer) would even notice it.

Probably an artifact. I re-did the jpg. Do you still see it?

Thanks for the other kind comments!

No, the banding's gone now. I take it the city is Seattle? I think I recognise the tower on the left - probably an episode of Frasier or something. I always thought it would be a nice place to visit, 'til I saw The Killing & realised it just rains all the bloody time.

Nice photo though. Makes me think it might still be worth a visit afterall. Unless you Photoshopped the sky & it really does just rain all the time.

I spent a day there last April, on my way back from Arizona (rather a detour, but Seattle/Heathrow was the only available flight back from the West coast) and rather liked it. It didn't rain at all, which might have coloured my view. On the other hand, I'm from Manchester, so a light drizzle is almost de rigeur if I'm to feel at home.

I agree about the photo: nicely done.
