Street shots - am I doing it right?

Hehe... some names are clearly misleading. As they used to say in Soviet times: "There is no truth in Pravda, and no news in Izvestiya" (pravda = truth, izvestiya = news).

So, why do they call it "street" photography when it is not about streets (as your photos are) is beyond me.

That said, what exactly are these? Not architectural, I think, but are they landscapes? Buildingscapes? The photos are lovely, btw.

They may not fall under the category of street photography, but they are landscapes. Rather nice ones, too. And after all, this is the Luminous Landscape, not the Luminous Street Shot.

We'd have to get a new name - Luminous Urban Landscape perhaps. We could try to get it started it when things get slow.

The first two are from Aberaeron on the west coast of Wales, a few miles south of Aberystwyth (for wildlife photographers, there are now Golden Eagles in the vicinity, the first in Wales for over 200 years). The Ceredigion Heritage Coast is definitely worth a visit, as is all of west Wales. The last shot is from the old Norman castle above Llandovery, to the north of the Brecon Beacons, also well worth a visit.

I'd heard a slightly different, if equally cynical, comment: "In Pravda there's no izvestiya; in Izvestiya there's no pravda".

I like the shots of the streets, though. They're my kind of street photography. Sorry, Russ.

Easy now, Jeremy. I didn't say I don't like them. In fact, I like them a lot. I guess there's just something in my Welsh DNA that takes to pictures of Wales. I often shoot the same kind of pictures, though they're not as good as Bill's.
