SpectraView2 and NEC P221w problem with 2008 Imac

Hi
I just installed Spectraview2 onto a 2008 iMac.  When I try to calibrate my NEC P221w with the NEC xrite sensor I get a communications error.  Is this a compatibility issue with the iMac? I use OS 10.6  I'm at a loss of what to try next.

I reattached the cable and it works fine!
