Sunrise at Canary Wharf
« on: August 11, 2011, 10:10:02 am »

An image that inspired me to look for ways to tame the contrast range in an image.
I felt this was an image that got away, no way could I get a shot that had enough range from shadow to highlight. I have always disliked the way digital clips so violently in the highlights, that funny colour you get around the Sun, blocky clouds. I wish I had my 67 up with me loaded with film, I don't pretend it would of got everything from dark to light, but it would of done it more beautifully, the highlights would of been better and sloped off to white in a progressive fashion. I do think there is a good chance we would of seen the Sun as a round globe and not the burn out to where we guess the Sun to be.
