I'm wondering whether anyone has specific experience with Lion on a MacBook Pro working between OSX native and Win7 as a virtual machine under Parallels.

I'm running the most recent version of Parallels under Lion and launched Win 7, I've run Photoshop and Lightroom for Windows with no problems but I haven't really spent a huge amount of time in Lion yet...

Hi Jeff. OK, you're set-up well to see how well (or not) it all coheres. That set-up if working properly is supposed to allow a seamless migration back and forth between Mac and Windows for opening, working and re-saving files - e.g. opening a file from the Mac side into a program operating in Win7, working the file and saving it back to where it was, etc. I'm curious to know whether all that inter-operability is maintained with Lion. It works fine with SL

Well, I wouldn't say it works "fine" with SL, but it works...I don't like the way it treats external hard drives as network connected drives. It precludes having Lightroom catalogs on them although the images can be there. But that's not a Lion issue...

Lion has been fine so far on my MBP - apps/printing is fine - the dealbreaker for me is i1 doesn't run (requires rosetta, cost of upgrade is pretty steep).

Love the new mail.app, although the address book appearance is just stooopid!  Another aspect is the hidden scrollbars - I thought i'd hate them, but i love how clean things are without 'em.

Lion Server's SMB (windows shares) implementation is causing me some grief - seems to work fine on the Lion Client, but having problems seeing SMB shares hosted on Lion......

Jeff, I also have some major issues with the App store :(   On one hand I can appreciate the cost savings, on the other, they *really* need to have human beings available to talk to (I actually have my state's Attorney General looking into this - they also have an issue with that phone number appearing on your bankcard statement going to a recording).

As of today, maybe a little less steep, got this email from X-Rite:

Andrew:  Every little bit helps, thanks for the info.

Craig: To clarify, Lion is having no issues accessing Windows shares (in a workgroup, you'll need to implement simple file sharing, not as secure - be sure to *block* tcp port 139 on your firewall).  Access to Windows shares hosted in an Active Directory environment is a real improvement - for some reason Snow Leopard insisted on re-authenticating every time you browsed the share - annoying.

Windows client access to SMB shares on Lion Server hosting Open Directory is not nearly as smooth - looks like some updates are forthcoming. I haven't joined Lion OD to MS-AD yet; from what I understand, it's supported.   Here's a nice description of the SMB changes in Lion:
