Bearded Iris

HB 501cm w/80mm Planar and 21mm extension tube on Phase One P30 at ISO 100

Nice! Interesting combo: 501cm + p30--and I thought it couldn't be done this well!

Hi Darr,
The combination works great. All my old lenses work great, just found camera shake that was ok with film is terrible when shooting digi. Most of the time use tripod and mirror lock-up if below 1/125 sec. My flickr (sailronin) site has a Phase One folder that has a good variety of work with the 501 and P30.
Thanks for writing,

Hey Dave,

I will definitely look at your Phase One folder over at flickr. I used Hasselblads for 15+ years when I had a portrait studio. After I retired the portrait studio and went strictly into product/tabletop work, I got rid of my 'blads and used view cameras from then on. Today I shoot with a 6x9 view camera and a P45. Your work makes me miss the blads.  Thank you for posting and sharing your work.

Kind regards,
Darr

I cannot seem to link to single images, but the entire "Catskills" portfolio was shot with a H3d-39 and either the 50mm or the 100mm f/2.2:

The sky is great...but the way you've mirrored it onto the ground is just physically impossible and jarring. The original must be wonderful in its own right, so why do this?

Yes, beautiful flower shot from Dave, and on your own thoughts about the 'blads, I miss mine too and consider parting with them the single biggest mistake I made in my professional life! (I made many others, but they had nothing to do with equipment! ;-)  )

 Hi Eric,
The iris is not stacked, just shot at f22 with a long exposure (no wind at all), I think it was 2 seconds with mirror lock up, but not exactly sure as it was a "bulb" shot. Thank you for the compliment on the iris.
Best regards,
Dave

I love your "treepod", great way to set up the shot. Lovely sky.

My 120 mm Macro for my Mamiya AFDII and P65+ had just arrived so I went out back to the wood pile and found this.

Thank you! I was surprised at how extremely sharp the 120mm is. I'd heard, but thought people
were exaggerating.
