I've finally gotten back into shooting some fashion for small, local designers here in Toronto.  I've been on a 2 year hiatus from this kind of work.  My first shoot was for a local latex designer, Adala Clothing.  I shot with four models in the male model's apartment - he has a very cool closet with colour photocopies of albums.  Here are a couple of examples from the shoot.  Yes, I have reservations about smoking in photos...

I'd love to hear your suggestions on what I can do better.

Cheers, Don

I like the first one sailiron,

I'm looking at buying a P30 non +, would you mind if I get some raws from you?  portrait and such with lots of skin tone...I have a A22 which I love the way it handles skin and want to compare with the p30

Thanks

This thread makes me want to take out my Contax this weekend. I've been lazy and only shooting 35mm since I can develop it in my sink.

Hi Tony,

Thank you for your kind words

Here a wide image from the same look out.

If you are wondering the camera is a Nikon D3x and an old Nikon 24-85mm AF-G lens which I sold as it wasn’t that great, I am keen on the new Nikon AF-S Nikon 24-85mm F3.5-4.5G ED VR as a walk around lens for my Nikon D800E.

Cheers

I like the first one more - something strikes me as missing in the 'wide' though it could well be that had I not seen the first shot I wouldn't have that notion.

Great shot!

Simon, the panorama is also a great image.
Well done.

BTW Jeff Schewe has posted in Landscape Photography Locations that he will be visiting NZ toward the end of the year and he is looking for advice on where to go. It seems that photography is not the all for this trip and he may be interested in a glass of Chardonnay or two as well.
Perhaps you might be able to give the man a pointer or two.

Wow, Michael, that is a pretty hypnotic scene - love this image.

Here is something I shot to test out a Mamiya 80mm D that I picked up from a member of the forum.  Great bokeh from this lens, IMO, despite the very busy background.

For all the reading and observing over the years, methinks I should post some of my non-professional images.

These are from the [Montreal] Mount-Royal TamTam, over the summer.  The images span several sessions.  All are from this year [2012].

Most of the people in the images do get a print [of the image(s) in which they are featured] the following week(s).  Some returning participants have, by now, a small stack of images from me, of them.  I've been attending these sessions over the last six years, so most [returning] participants have seen me at the TamTam taking pictures, and giving prints back.

In this series [of four images], all but the last picture has been given back to the main subject as a c-print.

None of these are staged or directed.

Someone brought several parrots to Old Montreal. Did not expect or know this was going to be an opportunity.  Session occurred this year [2012].

Murphy

Maya

Murphy_02

Murphy and Maya are the parrots' name.

This session, and another one the following week, became one of my favourite sessions and produced some my best images of this year, to date.

Provided the owner with a full set of [c-prints].
