This image is of one of the  many iron sculptures of the artist Antony Gormley on Crosby beach.. The sculpture was actually from a mould of his own body. There's is something so peaceful about the sculptures. The fall of the ground is very slight way out into the sea. The sculptures are located all along the beach at different distances from the dunes. As a result when the tide comes in, they water level rises to partially cover them in varying degrees to create a beautiful affect. I loved it there but Jayney the wind almost drove me crazy. The next day my usually sturdy umbrella, which I use to protect the camera from the sand literally fell apart in seconds and me running around the beach like an ejit running after it.  ;D

I like this one, it’s surreal. How big is the print?

The junction between the sky and sea on the right may want to be darkened a tad, but it might be a non issue on the print.

I'm not a fan of Gormley but the sky is fantastic.

This one really works for me.  The man (statue) appears to be looking at the beacon at the end of the pier. The angles of his line of vision and the pier seem to converge.  My eye is drawn to all points of this composition.   The sky is certainly striking, but that's not all that is going on in the photo.  I like this one even better than the last. I would certainly hang it in my office or home. :D :D

There are definitely a lot of sight lines and visual contrasts here, but it all works very nicely!

Thanks for all the comments guys. To Justan. The biggest print I've done of it so far was 1.5m wide and I was really happy with the result. You really feel part of the scene at that size.

I agree with you Enda - I do prefer this one. However I have to agree with Justan in darkening the horizon to the right.
