Need a Image Viewing program for Mac
« on: June 26, 2011, 10:15:57 am »

Can anyone suggest a good quality program to display & give a slide show for images?
This is for a Mac computer.

Any links/suggestions would be appreciated..
Thanks
Mike

If iPhoto won't do what you need, then Keynote should. If they're not already installed, you can get them from Apple.

If that's all you need it for, then iPhoto should do quite nicely.  As Rob suggested, Keynote is another alternative although not as intuitive to use for a slideshow as iPhoto.  Or you can go right to Lightroom or Aperture (I'm not as familiar with Aperture but I assume it's similar to Lightroom).

From Mac Help

Creating an instant slideshow

You can create an instant slideshow using the Quick Look feature.

To create a slideshow:

In the Finder, select the images you want to make into a slideshow.

Click the Quick Look (eye) button, or press the Space bar.

A Quick Look window opens with the first image displayed. Use the buttons along the bottom to move from slide to slide or switch to full screen view.

Photo Mechanic is good. I recommended it to my wife (a graphic designer) and other clients for quick viewing/previewing of images without the sluggishness of something like Bridge, or others where you have to import. Still, my all-time favorite is for PC (but not a problem is you dual boot or have other software), BreezeBrowser. It is still, handsdown, one of the fastest and easiest programs to use.

That's a cool idea.

It's too bad the OP can't be bothered to stop back by and acknowledge all the suggestions made here.
