How to avoid head strike on Z3200?
« on: June 25, 2011, 04:03:51 am »

Dear all,

I'm currently printing a job with Z3200 and Hahnemuhle Museum Etching paper which is 350 gsm.
And I'm the 2nd half of my roll right now and the paper start to get curly.
Head strike start to come up and the only say I can avoid it is to add 1 or 2 inch blank space in my file.
But that actually wasting a lot of my paper due to my volume of prints.

Does anyone know is there anyway to walk away from this problem?

ps: according to the HP pdf file, I've already set everything to ether thick or high, and star wheels down.

Thanks
Aaron

Aaron,

Keep the prints on the roll and cut externally?  I did not have any problems with fine art papers up to 310 grams on 3"cores but have no experience with heavier papers. My main problem has been with cheaper 150 grams paper on 2" cores. The last 10 meter I decurl over night on another roll and roll back the next morning. Will not be that easy with 350 grams.

met vriendelijke groeten, Ernst
