More from the Street
« on: June 19, 2011, 01:12:56 pm »

My contribution to the ongoing street idea. Taken at a student protest in Glasgow, Scotland a couple of weeks ago. The students were protesting about cuts in their courses because of financial restraints. The target is a manager in the college. Unfortunately the peaceful protest was marred by the Police arresting the students leader because the students refused to leave the road and mount the pavement. At that particular spot - a little used side street - the pavement is very narrow and all of them wouldn't have got onto it. This was a legal protest. The students retaliated by sitting down in front and behind the police van holding the arrested student for over two hours which meant the van couldn't move and the Police being outnumbered done nothing to move the students. Eventually the students relented.

These situations always show the divide between those who get the goods and those who are supposed to pay for them. What, exactly, do the students suggest? Had they used CK pants they might have been en route to making some money... but don't ask me how.
