So comparing both is like comparing a point and shoot with small sensor to a full frame DSLR.

Some serious hyperbole, really.   

The FF dSLR sensor is definitely smaller than a MF sensor.  And comparing both is at the most like comparing one of the smaller APS-C dSLR sensors  with a 35mm FF DSLR sensor.
