Birthday party
« on: June 15, 2011, 11:08:45 am »

I have a birthday party coming up for a friend who is celebrating her 16's. I have the lenses in mind but a second or third opinion is always through after. The party will be indoors.

I was thinking of the following lenses;

EF 16-35L, EF 35 mm 1.4L with Flash

or

EF 17-40L, EF 50mm 1.2L with Flash

Those lenses seem rather wide for candid shots, it's hard to inconspicuous when you are standing in front of people with a camera raised to your eye. Wide is good for posed groups, perhaps your 75-300mm f/3.5-5.6 USM and high ISO (no flash) would be good for capturing candid images.

Have fun,

Thank you for replying tom. It will be in a restaurant and I will be taking pictures at random to try and capture spontaneous moments. The wide angle may show an interesting perspective.

By the way, I like your website. The Canberra is my favourite picture.
