Can load roll feeder into ipf 8300 help!
« on: June 14, 2011, 09:58:54 am »

Hi!

The roll feeder wont fit in the left side where the gear is? Am i suppose to force it in there? It is about 1-2cm to short for the white thing to go into the "slot"

Se attached pics.

The round caps that go on the bar have a left and a right. Make sure they're on the right side of the bar. While I haven't had the problem personally I've heard of others who mixed them up and then the bar didn't fit. They have an "L" and an "R" on them.

This isnt the cap this is the end of the roll and that is permanent. The caps are in the right place and they dont have anything to do with this setting. Im sure the papper roller is in the right position as the right side hads the caps screwed in place and that side fits perfectly and has no gears.

Have you tried pushing the end so that white part disappears? I just looked at my 8300 roller and there's no white plastic anywhere visible. The black gear teeth are the very end of the bar.

Hi!
No there is no way to push the white end as it wont go into the pole. I just went to a friend who has a printing company, they have the ipf 8000s and the bar ist the same as the one they have. Looks the same and the same size.

No idea whats wrong...

Sounds like you should call canon tech support then.

The end of your roll holder looks different to the one in my printer. Just a guess - you might got different one for another canon printer due to bad QC? Or maybe there's just difference between US and Europe versions.

Yes it looks diffrent.

But mine looks the same as the ipf 8000s version.

Will se what the tech guys says today.

But yesterday i "jammed" it in there and it prints fine which is weird.
