« on: June 01, 2011, 09:26:20 am »

What is the method to do a ICC for ABW  (black ink only) on Epson 3880 ?
Do I need a gray scale target ?  how does the calibration works ?

thank you

i1P doesn’t build such ‘special’ B&W profiles. ABW doesn’t use em either. Its a proprietary black box method. Either use that or build a true RGB profile and apply that to the B&W (RGB) image you convert.

I am not sure to get it
do you know  a link to explain this method ?
Eric Chan is doing it http://people.csail.mit.edu/ericchan/dp/Epson3800/abwprofiles.html  but he doesn't explain how, you can get a gray scale target to print on his website

thank you

You’d have to ask Eric as this is a ‘unique’ ‘proprietary’ method he’s developed, its not part of the i1Profiler process of creating ICC profiles.
