3880 printing only 1/8th of an image
« on: May 31, 2011, 10:22:33 pm »

I'm printing on Harman by Hahnemuhle 25 X 17, entering the appropriate custom paper size in the settings. Everything looks fine in print preview. Then out comes only a portion of the image (about 1/8th) and printed at the wrong orientation, right at the edge of the paper. The first pass had really bad scum dot margins on two sides (about 1.5 inches wide). The second pass had no scum dots, but it was the same orientation and the same small 1/8th portion.

My Macbook Pro was recently stolen and I'm now printing from my replacement Macbook. I had to rework the image from the raw file and then printed out a perfectly good 8.5 X 11 test print before getting these weird results on the larger paper. Additionally, I made at least five good prints on Harman by Hahnemuhle 25 X 17 sheets with my previous Macbook. I don't want to use up any more of this expensive paper, but I don't know where to begin troubleshooting. Is it the Epson software or Photoshop CS5?

Any ideas?

Have you installed ALL the updates for CS5 and the Epson 3880 including running the Epsom Common Updater and updating the print driver?

Problem solved. I had reversed the custom width and length dimensions!

Thanks,

yea, getting the orientation (either the definition or the actual paper) wrong can do that.
