lexar compact flash card
« on: May 30, 2011, 12:45:03 am »

3 year old Lexar 1 gig cf card in nikon d 70 said no images in this folder, but there at least 100 jpegs were in there. Took card & batteries out and put back many times, as this has happened before. It always solved the problem. After a while of this message...a new message : format card,Which I did not do, instead  I took a shot which came out, and more shots after that. I have not tried a new card.
Hoping this is not a camera problem...does anyone have a opinion or theory?
Thank you

Have you ever formatted this card in the camera. If it's 3 years old and simply had the images deleted, formatting could resolve the situation as it effectively "tidies up" the card.

If in doubt get a new card. If you don't trust the card" bin it"

I second John's suggestion. Make sure you get all the images off it, of course, and then reformat it. If the problem persists, get a new card.
