I see Adobe just today released an update for Lightroom.

Thanks, looks like its bug fix release. The info says

The Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 3.4.1 update includes these enhancements:

• Additional camera support for several new camera models including the Canon Rebel T3i, Nikon D5100 and Fuji FinePix X100
• Corrections for issues introduced in previous versions of Lightroom 3
• The Lightroom 3.4.1 update includes an important correction for a bug introduced in the Lightroom 3.4 release

hi guys. question. does LR3 automatically update? i know i can go get it but i specifically want to know if LR3 has the ability to automatically update, or at least to notify me of an impending update. thanks-Mike

Yes - it will notify you of updates automatically. It then bumps you to Adobes website to download.

I cant speak to PC - but it certainly works that way on Mac
