...you don't leave your bedroom for the shot?

Jennifer, No, it's legit. But it's time for you to get back on the street. You've done some of the best street shooting I've seen on here, but now you're screwing around with "so what" type sunsets...? It's not bad for a sunset, but "so what?" Your forte isn't sunsets.

It's definitely not cheating, IMHO.

Here's one from my bedroom (actually, my bedroom on a vacation in Italy a few years back), before breakfast:

Russ,

I haven't been able to spend significant time on the street for the last many, many months as I've been dealing with the aggressive onset of a couple of forms of inflammatory / autoimmune arthritis that started showing their head about a year ago.  It's literally been in a pain in the butt and most other major joints as well.  But, the doctors are getting on top of things and I'm moving around better these days.  In fact, I have a couple of recent street shots I'll pop into a separate thread.

Jenn

ps, not that it matters, but this shot is looking east into the morning...

I feel for you, Jennifer. It's hell when your body lets you down and keeps you from what you want to do.

Like you, I have my own infirmities - heart, in my case, and now bereavement and lack of clients on top of it. The personal loss saps my energy to face a lonely exploration of Europe by car; the client loss prevents my hiring and working with great kids and making images I loved doing.

I tried the free substitutes too; music, boats, and sorry, it doesn't cut it for me much at all. I can't shake the knowledge that they are all, well, just substitutes for the real deal.

I hope your problem gets resolved and you find the strength to return on all engines.

I hope the room was as good as the view, Eric!

Amen to that, Rob C. In our case (my wife and I), the phrase nine lives comes to mind but the scary times continue. I won't go into the boring details.
Deepest sympathy on your berevement. It's a terrible loss.

As for the rest of it,  I can only offer my own credo: NO SURRENDER.

Is this more accurate?

Jennifer,

Good luck with the mobility problems. And I'm delighted to see your two new street photos.

Eric

P.S. My bedroom window isn't very good for street photography, either.

Another plus for youth: its bedrooms see more traffic.

Not street traffic, though, surely?

Not unless you might be really, really desperate! Frankly, not worth the risk, I'd suggest; better with a good night's sleep.
