Introducing the Hasselblad Royal Edition
« on: May 14, 2011, 12:14:04 pm »

All H4D cameras are built around a solid stainless steel body - now we've decided to let their inner beauty shine through.
The H4D-50 Royal Edition (like all H4D cameras) was designed to meet the needs of the most demanding high-end commercial photographers. Photographers who have but one thing in common - a desire to take their photography to the next level, to set themselves apart from the crowd. And now, with the H4D-50 Royal Edition, it's not just your images that stand out. Now your camera can as well.
A limited production run of 100 unique cameras that are a shining example of things to come.
Limited edition, limited time

Well those Gold plated Blads have always been around. And while it's certainly not for me, I can't help but think they could make something really cool with a dull silver one that is just polished stainless steel.

Please do that Hasselblad.

Finally a camera that will be worthy to "forget" on the seat of my Maybach at the country club.

The question remains, though: will it blend?

Well, it isn't just Hasselblad that mangles the English language  ;) Just about everybody else is at it, too. Are you ready to "transition" to MF digital?

Nice comment, though, Dick.

I will continue to prefer the less exclusive Ferrari variation which matches my red Blaupunkt  car audio.

The word "unique" means that there is only one of them.

Words tend to have broader meanings, so, according to a dictionary:

• being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else: original and unique designs
• particularly remarkable, special, or unusual

In this case, I would say it was used in its second meaning. It is the design that is unique (i.e., special, unusual, among other cameras/designs), not the camera itself. Note that the dictionary's own example uses a plural for "design"... if "unique" would only mean "the only one of its kind", than the only proper combination would be "unique design", not "unique designs"

P.S. If Hassy had sense they would invest in a modern version of the V series for legacy German glass, made where it originated in Goterborg, my hometown :)

And I love it [not] when folk modify unique with “very” or “almost … ”  >:(

I wonder... if you sell your V bodies I would assume you get rid of the lenses at the same time, I certainly did. Unfortunately. However, buying back into a dead system isn't the brightest move, in my view.

Does it have a blue dot on a red background? That would be eye-piercingly different!  ;)

Rob, I only have one Hassy lens which I will sell soon, never had V bodies. Was tempted... but realized that Hy6 is the modern version  ;D
