How should I discrib the Baryta surface?

Dear everyone

I'm looking for a single word term to discrib the surface of baryta paper
I don't think I should use glossy/semi glossy cause it doesn't look really glossy
Obviously it is not matte
is Satin a right word to use for this type of surface?

I'd simply use "Baryta".
There also are terms like "Pearl" or "Satin" for certain in-between surfaces,
though I have no idea which would suit your specific paper better.

OK, here ya go, the single word is "Fragile"

To be clear, the baryta is not on the printing surface of the paper but coated onto paper stock to give an improved whiteness.  Any fragility of the surface coating is a result of that coating and nothing else.

Doh! Alan nailed it.

So it would be something like:
BaSO4-Glossy
BaSO4-Satin
BaSO4-Whatsoever

As a side note - due to its x-ray density Bariumsulphate has also been used (and still is, I believe) as an x-ray contrast mash in intestinal X-Ray imaging.
