Compact Camera that shoots both 1080 HD video & RAW Still Capture?

I want to replace my beloved Canon G9 with a camera that will shoot both 1080 HD video and capture RAW still images.

I want a fixed (zoom) lens camera.

....and scroll down the left hand side and tick RAW (under Still Image Format) and 1080 (under Video Resolution) you get only two hits, a Fuji and a Leica. Is that all there is? This site gives three different cameras.....

.......but B&H say that only their two combine both features.

Any suggestions?

B&H is reporting only two cameras which meet your criteria because you've specified 1080 video. If you'll settle for 720, you can choose from around 10 cameras.

Frankly, given the small sensors in p&s cameras, you won't be giving up much by going with 720. And just so you know, we're talking about video clips here, not feature films.

Panasonic GH2 does Full HD (1080p) and shoots RAW. It has a fixed lens if you glue it

If you change your mind on the 1080 requirement...the Lumix LX5 - shoots AVCHD Lite  or "720p".  It is an extraordinary camera for the money imo.  I've shot video with it - and it looks great for this type of cam.. The still image quality is fantastic.

The Fuji HS20EXR that just came out appears to be able to do what you want, as the site noted.  It's a fine camera considering how cheaply you can get one for.  That said, its JPEG mode does produce better images most of the time.  But there is a RAW mode if you really want to do some fancy stuff and software-processing.

Other than that, it's about as small as it gets.  Anything truly tiny will have serious issues with the HD video.  ie - it may say it does 1080, but if it's a blurry and wavy picture during action or panning shots, it's not really worth it.

Another vote for a Panasonic GF1/G2/GH2/G3 or whichever model you choose.

One of the advantages of the Panasonic is the dual shutter button arrangement - one button to take pictures, another button to start/stop video. Saves a lot of time hunting through menus to switch mode.

Cameras are quick and responsive. Reasonable battery life and small(ish).
