How to convert a large Adobe Illustrator file to a .tif?
« on: May 04, 2011, 11:38:30 am »

Has anyone converted a large Adobe Illustrator file to a tif? A friend tried this using CS5, and the Adobe Illustrator reported that it ran out of memory, with 12 GB installed on a x64 machine.

There're a number of shareware programs which create a dummy Windows printer device, where you print your document from the application and it lets you save (in your case, a .tif) as an image file.

If he has CS5, is there a reason he was trying to rasterize the Illustrator file with Illustrator rather than Photoshop? Photoshop can rip an ai file easy enough...
