Against my better judgement, I'm forcing myself to part with my late Made in Japan copy of the 105mm VR. I mainly use the twice-as-much Zeiss 100mm now, and I personally prefer manual focus. This Nikon is a great lens for someone who wants AF, VR, and more general utility. As you may know, production of this lens shifted to China. To best of my knowledge the last Japan copies were 2009, which is when I bought this one. I used it at less than 10 weddings for details shots. It has I think two barely noticeable paint marks on the lens which is otherwise barely used and perfect. The hood has a few marks on it as that particular hood seems to mark more easily than most.
