If you want to buy Hasselblad ...
« on: April 18, 2011, 03:54:46 am »

Advice to all buyers: if you do not have the equipment in hand, I advise you not to buy. You can wait up to several months. Well, unless you're rich amateur...

Extremely tiring and boring...
Please provide concrete examples of the country and the gear you purchased.

Your one complex character Design?  :-\

Only last month you were defending Hasselblad to the death! I distinctly remember you singing their praises as the new Messiah in the H4D40 and P40+ thread.
So what gives this month as now Hasselblad is not the Messiah but a very naughty boy?

I agree, especially as long as you're waiting for the hardware. And this is not the specifics of the country, but the Hasselblad...
H3DII60, next H4D60 - 1.5 year :-) They should give that equipment for free.

I still think that Hasselblad H4D40 is an excellent  camera. But what of that as you can not buy a lens to it ... :-)

Again I would appreciate some more concrete information.  I ordered the 100m lens in January and got it early February.  Given the end year promotion of 15% I could live with that.  I was also told immediately that the lens was on backorder.

But this is not the subject of this thread. I just wanted to warn those colleagues who intend to buy equipment. That may face such consequences.
If you want detailed information, please ask directly Hasselblad.

We'll do something else. I order something from Hasselblad. I will let you know when I get;-)
I think that makes no sense to continue this topic now.

Another warning - if you can get your hands on new Hasselblad Hardware... it may not be fully functional.

The H3D11-50 initially came without live view, as did the H4D-60.

Wow!  I'm glad I picked up my CFii-39MS earlier in the year before this mysterious and ominous warning.  ::)
My back seems to work great on my Rollei and I've had great service from Hasselblad too.

With all due respect, I didn't understand the beginning, middle or the end of this thread. And yes, I am quite versed in English language & all(well mostly all) the implied innuendo. ::)

Is the intent of the OP to point to the catastrophe in Japan and how that has crippled and will continue to cripple the the worldwide camera, lens, and photo accessories supply chain? I think the crisis has impacted many manufacturers. So, it's not a good idea to just point a finger at Hasselblad.

I'm sorry, with all due respect to the events in Japan, which took place in March this year. What happened there is indescribable. I myself have friends there. But we can not claim that the earthquake is guilty delivery before this earthquake. Thank you very much for this post. If you notice and understand it. Why has not delivered hasselblad official statement on this subject? Customers will understand it after all. The situation of HxD60 has not learned anything? After all, customers are to you (Hasselblad), the most important and can not be regarded as such. That's all I have to say.

What this thread has told us is that there is support for Hasselblad, on a forum that is normally thought to be biased against it.

We understand that Hasselblad announce equipment in advance... to encourage us faithful to wait for a Hasselblad product instead of contemplating buying from the competition... and they like to get a product right before they deliver it.

They do have good pre-sales support... and the product is good enough not to need much after-sales support... but sometime I think that, perhaps they could spend more on development and, if necessary, less on marketing.
