Hasselblad Macro HC Vs CF
« on: April 16, 2011, 09:28:14 pm »

Hello everyone
just wonder if anyone out there have tried both the HC 120mm macro and the CF 120mm Makro
besides the CF version cannot reach 1:1, and no AF obviously
how do they perform against each other?
on what size of the extension tube would the CF 120mm Makro reach 1:1?

thanks a lot
Donald

Hi Donald
The MTFs would seem to suggest that the HC performs better especially at longer distances. I have shot with both but never at the same time so cannot say for sure but I think the HC is the better lens, it is a heavy beast though.

I have used both, but am not a big fan of any of them. I dislike the cf less than the H.
Both the Mammiya and the Contax macros are better. Or if you can use extention-rings the
Cfi 100 is very good.

I had owned a 120 Makro CFi lens for quite a while which I used with a P-25. I really loved it except at infinity it was not as good. I don't think they are optimized for distance, but great in the studio.(as someone else said) I have rented the 120 HC a number of times, I think it is one of the few or only AF macro lenses, it also focused very close much closer then the CF without tubes. It seemed to be quite good, but I only used it for closer subjects.
