Sinar CaptureShop 6.0.2 available ! TAKE CARE!
« on: April 11, 2011, 03:03:51 am »

Sinar is always discreet for the program's updates ! Go check the Sinar's site to find CaptureShop 6.0.2., active since March 22.

Some improvements, but no revolution.

To work.

Thanks for that too.  Hope that includes the LCC shading in eXposure.

Small loss on version 6.0.2 (already absent on 6.0): CaptureShop Help and  Hotkeys are inactive. If you need to find the instruction manual, you have to look at CaptureShop 5.6.6 (or earlier).

Not ideal for beginners on the system! Sinar would be well advised to put some order on this side.

...in tethered mode yes... but the NON-tethered mode which resides with eXp and will be incorporated soon into CaptureShop...  ;)

locked means, that you have to convert this files. 5.6.6 files are .sti files, since 6.0 are sinar files dng. so you have to klick on to the locked files and then select "save as" and than you will have this files saved as dng, so you can use this files within the 6.0.2

it is possible, but i would never do this, because sinar captureshop is processing much better as any other software with the original sinar files, especially in the black - dark areas of the file!

That is not what I noticed...I actually found Lightroom 3 and Phase one CS 6 did a much better job on the DNG'S than sinar capture shop .  I only use captureshop to capture the photos  - i find its interface awful and limited to only the most basic adjustments.

Sorry, I was ref. to my expirience with Capture One V 5.x,  with Capture One V 6.x seems to be much, much better with Sinar dng files!

Lightroom 3 seems to be very good with Sinar DNGs too. I used to process in eXposure to squeeze some extra quality from the files, compared to LR2. With LR3 I can't see a useful difference. I tested it on a file from today's shoot and was happy to see I couldn't choose a winner. That means I'll be sticking with a LR3 workflow from now one, which I enjoy using very much. Perhaps different kinds of files might have slightly different outcomes.

A small problem with 6.0.2: preview image displayed is much denser than that which appears after a 1 shot, a 4 shots, or 16 shots. In addition, the density of the 4 shots and 16 shots is quite different, which seems unacceptable.

Who could have observed the same manifestation? The Belgian Sinar dealer tells me that my case is not isolated!

So I go back to 6.0 before the correction of this defect.
