Amphitheater built by the Romans ca. 180 AD in Aspendos, Turkey
Xpan w/30mm and Kodak Ektachrome 100, scanned on Epson V500

I like the second one. Personally, being generally misanthropic, I'd have taken it without the people but that's just me. Have you tried it in b&w? I think it would probably look very good.

The people in the second shot add scale and a human touch.

It was a beautiful location and a great place to shoot. I haven't tried the images in B&W do feel that people add scale and interest to the second shot.

The b&w seems as though it is even stronger than the color version, IMO.

I like this. I think I'd try to lighten the inside of the first arch, though: it seems, as a black bar, to divide the image into two much more than was apparent in the colour version.

I like the first one very much but the second one is really outstanding. The B/W version is beautiful and the couple in the distance is brilliant - it add a sign of life and, as Larry said above, gives scale to those arches. The panoramic format is really well suited here.
