Canon ipf6100 - Printing InDesign and PDF Files
« on: April 04, 2011, 09:00:03 pm »

I'm so used to printing images from the photoshop plug-in, but when I go to print out through InDesign or Acrobat, I have no idea what I'm doing!  I noticed when I designed in CMYK, the blacks never hit black, so I converted everything to RGB and that made a huge difference, but I'm wondering if there is a trick I'm missing to insure I'm getting the best text/vector output on the printer?
Thanks!

Like making a 16 bit, 600 PPI Tiff or PNG, one way or another from the InDesign design, checking its colors in Photoshop and printing with the plug-in? Could be that you need a PDF export first and drop that in Photoshop to get the rasterisation. Keep RGB from design to print, use anti-aliased at 600 PPI at Photoshop import or with the other application's Tiff export.

met vriendelijke groeten, Ernst
