Eastern Sierras Fall Foliage Timing

Try calling the Mamouth Lakes, Bishop and/or Lee Vining CofC.  The National Forest Service may have some useful info.

I was there last week and it had started, so it should be peak right about now.

BUT NOTE --->  It appeared from what I saw last week, this is going to be a disappointing year for the Lee Vining/June Lakes/Lundy canyon fall color.  My advice would be to check out the areas further south out of Bishop like Lake Sabrina.

Also, Yosemite looks like it could be promising in a few more weeks...

Cheers,
Jack

Here is a good site for future reference (like next year?):

Sacramento Bee

Looks like he has some pretty good info there.

Does anyone have current info on the Aspen leaves in the area?
Where should I start?
Am I too late?
Thanks,
Henry

I just returned from June Lake today.   The colors along the loop are stunning - yes there are oranges and reds!!. That combined with an overcast sky made for a stupendous Sat.
