Starting to import into LR3 and noticing odd behavior. The folders listed for the drive in the 'Folders' list on the navigator side of the Library module are different than those listed in the Import module, which does match how they show up on the drive itself.

On the drive, I have folders for each year, and LR has been adding the image files to subfolders it has generated in the main folder. The drive and folders in the Import module Destination list matches the drive itself, with a master folder for each year and the appropriate subfolders.

Lightroom Library Help indicates all three lists should match. But when Import is done, the newly imported subfolder is just added to a list of previous subfolders. There are no master folders for each year indicated in the Library module Folders list.

All actions have been performed through LR and not the Finder.

Hopefully this makes sense.

Thanks

LR does not show the parent folders unless you tell it to. If you right-click one of sub-folders, the pop-up menu includes an item "Add Parent Folder".

You may have to add the parents of several of your sub-folders to see all the parents.

Thanks for that. Seems it would make more sense to have it the other way around, match it by default and get rid of parent folders manually.
