Is Profoto Compact 600 comparable to D1 500?
« on: March 23, 2011, 08:18:00 pm »

I am looking for some quality light for table top photography and lights for weddings.
My questions: Is Profoto Compact 600 comparable to D1 500? I would like to get the new D1 but they are expensive. Is the light quality of the Compact and the D1 is similar?
Thanks a lot!

i have both of them but in 100 and 1200, and found out that i prefer the light from the compact 1200... less directive...a bit warmer too !
Now, that i've bought the D1 dome... it's more similar !

The 600 doesn't go down low enough for tabletop work. the d1 are brilliant for that, especially as you can adjust themodelling lights independantly from the flash power, should you wish.

The dome helps with most lightformers, it is worth getting, though most of my D1s go without, but with standard reflector, if possible
