Nope. The M8 sucks. I cannot think of a single reason to buy one, and I love Leicas. Buy a Fuji X100 instead. It's a no-brainer.

The CV 50mmf1.1 is an interesting lens. It is bitchingly hard to focus, but can give results which are very similar to the last generation Noctilux (the f1.0). The bokeh isn't quite as creamy, but for a 1/4 the price, i's quite acceptable.  The lens is very good when stopped down. The build is superb.  If you look around on the site you can find my review of it as a landscape tool. I have kept it for portraiture (on the M9) and don't regret doing so.  I use a 1.25x magnifier with it - don't bother otherwise.

Cheers.
