Size issues, Imac 27/ Epson pro 7900
« on: March 22, 2011, 04:12:00 pm »

Hi there.
Can anyone tell me what to do? No matter what i do, i cant get the right size on my prints. They seem to get a little smaller than what i "order" from the printer. I have tried to work around it, but it shouldnt have to be like this.
Eks: if i want it to be 50*70 it seem to be 49*69ish...
Sollutions, anyone?

Kind regards

Have you tried to make your own paper size instead of using the standard sizes?
And no scaling checked in the Print Dialogue?
What app do you print from?

Hi.
I am printing from CS5 . I am using my own paper size yes, and no scaling.
Right now i am using 24 inch canvas on roll.
I choose: roll paper/ borderless/retain size. I have set the image to be 52cm wide and 28 cm high. Margins set to 0.00 .
It seems like the whole image is not printet, like the printer choose to "cut" it on the left side, while there is plenty of unprintet area on the other, right side.
Need also to mention, i choose "centered" in the driver, so shouldnt it be centered then?

But if you pick a /borderless/ retain size, you use a standard size.
And for borderless you can only use fixed sizes, like 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20, 24 inch or corresponding cm.

Sven is right. I use Lightroom which shows your borders as you change dimensions. Not sure if Photoshop does the same.
Let's say you want a 22"x28" print.
If you set your custom paper size of 24" x 30" you will have a 1" border on all 4 sides.
Some here still have the driver doing some funky things with the overall print size, with canvas.
Setting canvas in your driver as well as on the printer has fixed this in most cases.
