Both are the 110mm f2 Planar for the 2000 and 200 series focal-plane shutter cameras, and was introduced in 1977. The FE vesion has electrical contacts to communicate with the body of the 205 TCC cameras from 1990 onwards. This lens is generally acknowledged to be one of the finest ever made by Zeiss.

Hasselblad claims that the F-lenses are optically, mechanically and operationally identical to the corresponding FE-lenses.

Here is a data sheet for F:

And for FE:

John is correct in that the FE adds electronic communication.  Slobodan is correct in that the optical formula remains unchanged.

Reputedly, the 110/2 has undergone five revisions--no idea how many during F production vs. FE production.  But the latest 110/2 is supposed to have improved flocking and can be identified by the presence of a square baffle after the rearmost element.  This is version I have owned, and found it to be superb.  I assume the other revisions are very much in the same category.

This is the rear of a later (latest) FE, showing the square rear and electrical contacts.  Made in 1995.

Hi, Steve,

That might not be the latest version, as there is a version with metal baffles forming a sort of square out of the rear element.

The following is the best picture I could find of the baffle.

Note: A user with s/n 71xxxxx reports not having the baffle, and a user with s/n 75xxxxx reports having it.

Hope that helps,

Interesting...fun to keep of with the minutia of Hasselblad...the 110 pictured has an SN of 75119XX.  BTW, were you the person who modified a "CW" winder to work with a 203 FE?  If so, could you re-post the reference.

Thanks:
