Problems with external editors
« on: March 04, 2011, 03:08:13 pm »

Whenever I launch an external editor from the library module (Silver Efex Pro, Topaz) I get an incorrect (unedited) preview in the library module and the correct preview in the development module. To better clarify the reimported edited file from Silver Efex Pro is shown in colour in the library module ( but the histogram is correct for B&W) and in B&W in the development module.
On the contrary if the external editor is launched from the developmemt module everything is fine in both module.
Any suggestion? I have already rebuilt from scratch the previews without any benefit and changed the preview size from standard to 1:1 and back.
Thanks,
Ario

Are you working with/tried using DNG files?

I think I hit the same problem the other day. Currently trying out a trial version of Silver Efex and had the edited version still show in colour, didn't check develop module though.

On a related issue, if I edit an image in Silver Efex 2 and import it to Photoshop 5 it takes a few seconds and then I have to click on the layer mask for it to show in Photoshop. Similar programs so maybe a similar problem?
