FS: Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM Lens

Up for sale is my Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM Lens. This is an L series Pro lens, build quality does not get any better than this.

The lens is currently located near London in the UK.

It's a cracking lens, brilliant for wildlife  photography, but I just don't get the use out of it I should do for it's value (having 2 kids puts any arty photography on the back burner). I only really use my 24-70mm nowadays.

It's in pristine condition! It comes with a 77mm Hama UV filter which has been on it the whole time I have owned it and the Canon ET-83C hood. There are some slight marks are on the tripod connector (where it's been screwed on) and on the hood (which I barely used). These are so negligable most people wouldn't bother mentioning, but I like to be up front.

It's missing the original box, but comes with all the paperwork and the original soft case with strap.

Price : £825 + P&P

I would ideally like it picked up in person and will deliver within a certain radius, but will post it if needs be. I will only use special delivery for this and would pack it incredibly well to minimise damage possibilty.

A couple of questions if you don’t mind as I’m looking for one
Can you post some shoots taken with the lens.
Can you give the date code of the lens did you buy the lens from new/how long have you had it.
Is there any dust spots inside the lens.
Is it a sharp copy.
Where abouts in London are you as would be looking at a pick up and test first.

I must warn you someone has already contacted me and are trying to organise a day they can view it. However, if that falls through you are next in line.

Anyway to answer your queries, I had a look and there are a couple of pictures I shoved on Flickr that were taken with this lens:




Date code is UM0900. The lens has had two owners (me obviously being the second), so I did not buy it new, I got it back in 2005.

The lens is dust and fungus free, it's immaculate.

What do you mean by a sharp copy? If you mean, does it produce a sharp picture, then yes, I would say it does.
