Epson 4800: one nozzle firing continuously
« on: February 27, 2011, 08:20:10 pm »

I'm getting a continuous magenta line on ALL output (even text-based diagnostic printouts from the front panel) on my Epson 4800.

Like a "stuck pixel", I have a "stuck nozzle".

Any help from Epson gurus?

I saw something like this a long time ago, and for some bizarre reason it was happening because another nozzle was clogged.  Don't ask me how that's possible...  I'd start with a nozzle check print, then probably go right to a power cleaning.  If that doesn't do it, my stab would be that it's something to do with the board or cabling malfunctioning.

Thanks, Ted.  I'll try a power clean.
