1Ds Parameters Settings?
« on: December 30, 2003, 01:29:13 am »

Hi all:
I presently use a 10D. I shoot RAW format with Parameters set to Adobe RGB. I do all processing (sharpening, levels, etc) in Photoshop 7. I use Capture 1 for conversion from RAW to TIFF. I will soon be getting a 1Ds. For best possible image quality, how do you set Parameters? Choices are: Sharpness 0 to 5 (5 being highest sharpening). I assume I should select 0, as I plan to sharpen in Photoshop.  Sharpness Level: Fine, Moderately Fine, Standard, Moderately Rough, and Rough. I assume I should select "Standard", although if I selected "0" sharpening above, it may make no difference? JPEG Quality: Fine Mode choices are 6 to 10, Normal Mode choices are 1 to 5. I do plan on imbedding a JPEG, so I would select the highest number, assuming I would have a use for a high quality JPEG in addition to RAW. Your thoughts on the above?
I will also have to select Color Matrix. I have assumed I would select Number 4 - "Adobe RGB", since I have Photoshop's color space set to that. Other choices are #1 "natural looking hue & chroma", #2 "hue & chroma suitable for portraits", #3 "hue & chroma similar to high chroma slide film", and #5 "low-chroma"
Thanks for your thoughts
Dave
