Keywording
« on: February 22, 2011, 08:35:27 am »

Any advice how to handle this.

I'm using keywords this way:

1) have an external file with the keywords (> 1  000)

2) Import in LR the file and start using the Keywords

3) so no problem here; all goes well and plenty of keywords in the raw photos and others ( > 40 000 files)

4) then I update the external file with new keywords (outside LR)

5) How to get the new keywords in use and not delete all keywords from the used files??

Yair,

just make a short list of keywords in LR. Make different types and
the export it:  METADATA  -> EXPORT KEYWORDS

now you have a text file which you edit. The syntax in the text file is
very simple and should be clear when comparing to what you have in LR.

Make some changes in the text file and import it back to LR. You'll see
what works. METADATA  -> IMPRT KEYWORDS

BUT, how not to loose the old keywords?
