snow leopard & epson 3800 driver
« on: February 17, 2011, 04:12:42 am »

Hi

Just got a new imac with snow leopard. Had already loaded the old driver thinking I could upgrade the software but then spotted in red writing on the epson website " Do not load older software". Tried following links and upgraded the recommended driver but no luck. I'm sure this is quite an old problem but can't find a solution. Any help would be appreciated.

if there is no uninstaller, you can try reopening the .pkg file of the old driver, then going up to the File menu where it shows 'List Files' (or is it List Contents?).  You could then manually remove everything.  In reality, 99% of what you're interested in is in /Library/Printers/Epson/......... so you could just nuke that.

make sure to delete any Epson printer from the Printer Pref pane first lest you leave a zombie.  It's also handy to do a backup beforehand ;)

Thanks for the reply. Did as you suggested but still had to get epson on the phone. All he suggested was nozzle check to see if printer was there, print in text edit and then pshp was ok too. He couldn't figure what he had done but all is now well.
