Epson matte, which do you like?
« on: February 14, 2011, 10:23:46 am »

Do you like the Epson Matte, or the enhanced Matte, or the thicker matte paper?  I'm wanting to print some personal projects on matte paper via the 3880.

Also, where do you find the best places to buy?

Any help is appreciated.

I like epson semi gloss. It's matte enough and doesn't look muddy and hide the shadows. I have tried epson utlra prem. matte and wasn't happy with the results.

Good colors and sharpness, but you have to notice that EnhM is only a 190 gms paper.
And it have not so good reputation for permanence, when it's made of Alpha cellulose and not acidfree.
But the worst thing is the amount of OBA(FBA). It turns quickly from bluish white to a yellow-grey in just a couple of months.

If you're after matte papers of excellent quality, I suggest the Epson HotPress Line, Canson Infinty or Hahnemühle.
Shades of Paper have'm all.
