I like that, Patricia. Snow is difficult at the best of times and injecting a quasi religious mood into such a thing is even more unlikely! Well done. It wasn't soap, was it? You are not playing mind games in Florida?

On a related thread: keep off bikes - they hate people and are like the bumble bee: dynamically unsound. Don't you know that left to their own devices they fall over?

Patricia, Your camera manufacturer probably can get that lens element back into place if you send in the lens.

Seriously, I like it, and that's unusual because it's way outside the range of my favorite genres. I also like what I see on your web. You're good at it. Just looked at the post again. I don't know why it grabs me, but it does.

You ought to take a shot at Color mag's portfolio contest, which is open at the moment. I'll bet you'd do well.

Very much ditto to what Russ said! Wonderful mood, very arresting.

Thankyou for taking the time to let me know how this came across to you...I'm finding myself waiting longer as the evening fronts come in hoping to catch this mood more often before the snow gives way...Yes Russ..that lens element gives me unpredictable joy in the cold...(seriously I often lose my tilt or shift because of frozen rheumatic fingers, but this one was mine)

Patricia, you need to move to a permanently warm climate.

..a wonderful little group of images came from those hours in this rather common location...the light had me ( and actually held me there instead of heading to the spot I had intended...this is another from that location...(had already popped this up in Love those trees..but thought you'd appreciate just how common the actual location is , but what a beautiful palette the light that day offered...) I am glad to know that others enjoyed it as much as I...

Thank you

Sometimes what is familiar and close at hand can be more meaningful than the unfamiliar and exotic.

I'm glad you were able to take advantage of the wonderful light.

Eric
dear dear Eric... you have taken me to another place with your kind words, for reasons that are deep with me...I only spent two days with Minor, and it had cost me two weeks salary mid -sixties to do so, but has stayed with me as appetite to see from within...

Each of the two afternoons he took the time to speak to each of us one on one. I found myself telling him of the first time I had seen the sea, and how I sat on the cliff looking eastward over the Atlantic well after nightfall, certain that if I stared unblinkingly long enough I might be able to see even the Cliffs of Europe...foolish childhood imaginings. An extremely angered father came searching for me and forbid me to leave the cottage the next day...I sat with my eyes closed and kept seeing out across the sea... I told Minor how that day had stayed with me often to return, especially at times behind the speed graphic trying to allow myself to pull the cover of three or four remaining sheets, fearing that if I did, I would suddenly having looked but not seen still the sought, that it would appear when it was too late...hope this makes sense..somewhat tough to explain.

Looking, not seeing still, knowing from within, squinting through wind teared eyes or my own lashes against the light that seeing was a promise...He told me to keep that with me.  I've never forgotten it.  And so you touched a soft spot friend, and I thank you for taking me to those days once more...
