Ancillary Photographers' Software
« on: February 10, 2011, 11:45:50 am »

I'm probably the last person to stumble upon The Photographer's Ephemeris. What an excellent piece of freeware for planning a shoot! Now my curiosity is piqued as to other software tools out there to assist in image capturing. Thanks for any leads.

Some of these aren't specific to photography but I use them regularly when planning outings.

Sunrise Sunset Pro
DSLR Kit for Dummies (most of this is useless but the "Shoot Diary" is great for scouting trips)
TWC Max
Park Maps
Park Guides
iFotoGuide

Here's a blog post I wrote last year about which iPhone apps I use for nature photography.

Thanks, Bretedge. With Apple at the forefront of mobile computing, more & more apps are written for the iOS rather than the Mac OS. This certainly makes sense considering the portability of the iPhone, iPad, etc. I have been considering the iPad since its introduction. Looks like I will take the plunge when iPad 2 is released in April.
