Regarding the flash heads they will perform about the same, regarding the packs Pro7 works with a little higher voltage, resulting in a little shorter duration.
There is also an interesting chart about the flash duration comparing Pro7 and Pro8: http://blog.profoto-usa.com/?p=154

Sorry, I haven´t seen one yet. But I would assume the pro 6 freeze is close to the pro 7. You might check and compare yourself with a bron FCC meter if you own both units. I do not have personal experience with the older pro series, they are not in the rental houses anymore and that´s where we use profoto from time to time. (We own the broncolor packs for flash duration) If short flash duration is an issue think about using twin heads.

The user manual states that the Pro6 2400Ws Freeze has a flash duration of 1/5300th sec at lowest and 1/1000th sec at highest power setting. The Pro6 1200Ws Freeze is 1/1600-1/7500th sec.

I think you can have the heads converted.

Call these people.  They know everything about every flash on the planet.

Also if your trying to freeze something, don't just go by the numbers because most numbers are well kind of fiction and even then they're so many variables, like the subject movement, how fast to camera to flash, how long the head cords are, etc. etc.  Even if the shutter speed is 1 billionth of a second that doesn't mean much if your cutting into 2/3's of the flash or getting the camera to open too late.

If your working small sets, those little battery powered Nikon flashes really freeze, but everything else . . . test, test and test.

I'm using all Pro-7 heads on my Pro-6 Freeze 2400 packs. Bought them as packages that way from PF.
